Tiffany & Co. #4119 TUREEN Repousse monogrammed "JTT"
A sterling silver soup tureen, maker's mark of Tiffany & Co., New York, number 4119-7445, circa 1875, of ovoid form on a conforming foot, fully Repousse-chased with blossoms, leaves and ferns against a stippled ground, the bracket handles with shell and acanthus leaf decoration, the reeded ring finial with acanthus leaf joins, the body engraved above the foot with initials "J.T.T"; length is 14.25", weight is 63.10 troy ounces.
The capital "M" mark dates to the period in which Edward C. Moore was artistic director of Tiffany's silver operation from 1873 to 1891.
