A sterling silver water pitcher, maker's mark of the Gorham Mfg. Co., Providence, Rhode Island, Number 795, Circa 1871, retailer's mark of B & co (possibly the mark of Henry T. Brown, who ran a retail store in Providence with John Gorham and Gorham Thurber). Urn-shaped, engraved with foliate strap work enclosing a cartouche, engraved with a gothic monogram C.T.D., the circular foot with saw-pierced decoration, the multi-form handle with a mask terminal; height is 11 3/4 inches, weight is 39.95 troy ounces.
