An American coin silver butter dish, Gorham Manufacturing Co., Number 310, circa 1881, of circular form with an ice chamber, raised on four leaf-clad legs and applied with four classical medallions, the high-domed cover bright-cut with a scroll border and surmounted with a button finial decorated with fruits and berries in relief, centering an engraved inscription Mv L R from A v M F; length across the handles is 7 1/2 inches, weight is 22.50 troy ounces.
